The Senior Executive/ Executive, Product Development will be overall responsible to manage the design, development and governance of the company insurance product, ensuring local market expectations and regulations are understood; develop and promote the new and existing products to ensure its remain competitive and sustainable.
 

Responsibilities: 

  1. Product Research and Development
  • Support company strategy on product perspective.
  • Lead and conduct the market research/ Google, market analysis, development and delivery of new product ideas and improvement to existing products resulting from specific briefs.
  • Draw up schedule of product and ensure implementation of the agreed product strategy and product plan to enhance the productivity and activity to achieve business target.
  • Identify new market opportunities and local market regulation changes.
  • Investigate, assess and make recommendations on the feasibility of new products, ensuring local market regulations and market attractiveness are fully assessed and considered.
  • Create, review and deliver product briefs and presentation materials both internally and externally as required.
  • Collect the market information and perform the analysis to evaluate competitiveness position.
  • Act as product owner to drive the product initiatives to achieve the expected business target.
  • Actively participate in other product initiatives and coordinates with other marketing department to develop the product position and marketing plan for that product initiative.
  • Participate in distributor and customer focus group to generate product ideas and collect feedback.
  • Work closely with internal department to generate effective sales idea, marketing materials, sales presentation materials, sales tools etc.
  • Work closely with internal department such as underwriting, product owner etc. to design marketing plan, to effectively introduce our product to company as well as our target corporate clients.
  • Talk to agents to evaluate feedback.
  • Manage Product cycle and performance tracking.
  • Propose product to remove.
  • Manage and lead and develop the team members

2. New Business Pricing

  • Liaise with Actuarial Pricing team for new business pricing quotes and risk evaluation activities
  • Manage all new business underwriting activities at working level
  • Centrally track and monitor progress of all new business pricing projects
  • Actively engage with all internal and external stakeholders in technical discussions
  • Preparing and presenting reports and analyses on new business activities to management on a periodic basis or as required
  • Working effectively with local actuarial teams and present findings
  • Assist in managing any Product Review leading the implementation of Product Review changes.
  • Assist in managing commercial reviews for new products and Product Suitability Reviews on legacy products and giving recommendations.
  • Assist in managing the production and delivery of reinsurance documentation.
  • Proposition development
  • Identify opportunities to grow profitable business.
  • Adhere to the approvals process for any propositions.
 

3. Relationship Management

  • Actively manage relationships within the teams and partners.

 

4. Team Collaboration and Management

  • Participate in the streamlining and optimizing of underwriting processes.
  • Collaboration of best practices and support all technical activities to drive premium growth and profit
 

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 1-2 years working experience in the relevant field
  • Good interpersonal and management skill
  • Creativity and innovative thinking on marketing idea
  • Problem solving and decision making skills
  • Effective project management skill
  • Good business acumen and is customer oriented
  • Hands-on insurance product development experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication, writing, presentation and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skill
