Kuala Lumpur, 18 March 2020 – Berjaya Sompo Insurance Berhad (“Berjaya Sompo”), had activated Work-from-Home (WFH) arrangement for all functions beginning 18th March until 31st March 2020 to coincide with the government’s “Restriction of Movement Order”, which was announced by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on 16th March 2020.

Financial institution was mentioned in the PM’s speech where it has been classified as an essential service and would not be closed during the movement control order. As a general insurer in Malaysia and a member of the financial services industry, Berjaya Sompo will abide by the order and remain open during this period from 18th March to 31st March 2020, to serve its customers.

With the WFH in effect, Berjaya Sompo’s employees have been split into two (2) teams, taking turns to work-from-home, beginning today, 18th March until 31st March 2020. Employees will work online and receive remote support via digital channels and platforms to ensure communications with each other and with customers remain uninterrupted during this WFH period. Steps have been taken to ensure this arrangement will have minimal interruption to its day-to-day business operations.

Berjaya Sompo will continue to review its action plan from time to time to keep everyone safe. In the meantime, Berjaya Sompo would like to remind everyone to stay vigilant and to take precautionary measures for your own safety.
