We bid our Marketing Manager who was based in our Batu Pahat branch in Johor, Mr Neo See Khoon, a happy retirement recently. He was presented with a certificate of long service and a gold coin. Read on as Mr Neo shares his story working with Berjaya Sompo for 10 years.

What were some of the roles you held in the last 10 years?
Agent recruitment, new businesses, agent retention and renewal rate retention. One of my biggest achievements was turning the Batu Pahat branch from a RM4.3 million premium branch to a RM13.8 million premium branch.

How do you feel about retiring after 10 years working with the company?
Very sad! I can't bear to leave the company, at the same time, I am happy with what I have achieved here. :)

In the one decade that you’ve been with us, what has been the biggest change that you observed?
The current management is making many improvements such as restructuring of policies, benefits and ways of working, which I believe will lead this company to new heights in the coming years.

Can you share some of the memorable moments you had while working here?
Attending the company conventions locally and abroad with our agents, as it is good for knowledge exchange and building the team momentum. Another moement was when the Batu Pahat branch premium crossed the RM 10 million threshold, which marked another level of success and achievement of me for this company.

Who will you miss the most when you leave?
All of my Batu Pahat branch staff and bosses who have supported me throughout this 10 years.

What is the secret to your longevity with the company?
Enjoy what you are doing and continue to do what you need to do!

What are you looking forward when you retire?
Enjoy life, and spend time to do what I may have missed before or wished to do before retirement.

What advice would you give to the current and new staff of the company?
Work smart and work hard. Always think of what you can contribute to the company rather than asking for what you will get in return.
