Berjaya Sompo Introduces Its First Laughter Yoga Series To Promote Well Being

Together with LOL Events, our official partner for “Laughter is the Best Medicine”, we will be organising a total of 5 sessions of Laughter Yoga from July until November. Between July and October, the public can join any of the available 4 sessions while the last session is for employees of Berjaya Sompo Insurance.

Laughing is an easy way to strengthen all immune functions, bring more oxygen to the body and brain, foster positive feelings and improve interpersonal skills.

Laughter Yoga is a new form of exercise akin to internal jogging that promotes the use of laughter as a form of physical exercise. It has become a worldwide phenomenon with more than 6000 social laughter clubs in 65 countries. The concept of Laughter Yoga is based on a scientific fact that the body cannot differentiate between fake and real laughter. As it follows a body-mind approach to laughter, participants do not need to have a sense of humour, know jokes, or even be happy. The invitation is to laugh for no reason, faking it until it becomes real.

One of the most motivating factors for people to join Laughter Yoga sessions is the belief in the multiple health benefits they will derive from it. Laughter Yoga is a powerful cardio workout and just 10 minutes of hearty laughter is equal to 30 minutes on the rowing machine. It increases blood circulation and relaxes the muscles. Attire: Participants are advised to bring a towel and wear comfortable clothing that wouldn't restrict your movement.

8:30 am - Registration

9:00 am - Session Begins

  • Contextualization - Introduce Laughter Yoga concepts, and enrol participants to be fully involved in the program.
  • Warming Up - Warm up and relax core body muscles before the start of the Laughter Yoga Exercises.
  • Laughter Yoga Exercises - Introduce basic Laughter Yoga exercises that participants can also use during their daily lives.
