Basic Requirements To Become General Insurance Agents
- Applicant must be at least 21 years old
- Applicant must pass the Pre-Contract Examination for Insurance Agents (PCEIA) conducted at specific centres in major towns decided by the Malaysian Insurance Institute
- Applicant must possess SPM/MCE with 5 passes inclusive Bahasa Malaysia subjects or other qualifications deemed equivalent or higher (must be academic based)
- The examination is available in Malay, English and Chinese and may be taken on written basis or electronically
- Study of a textbook on basic insurance knowledge is necessary
- Candidates who possess any of the following qualifications are exempted and can be registered as an agent with us
List of Qualifications For Exemption Under Regulation 7 of GIARR - Interested candidates can request Berjaya Sompo Insurance to arrange for the examination.
