What is Sompo Smart Delay?
Sompo Smart Delay is a benefit of SOMPO TravelSafe+ that provides policyholders with complimentary airport lounge access their flight is delayed by more than 60 minutes under Elite Plan A or more than 120 minutes under Elite Plan B.
Who is eligible for the Sompo Smart Delay?
This benefit is available exclusively to customers who purchase SOMPO TravelSafe+ under the Elite A or Elite B plan. It applies to Individual, Group, Family, and Annual plans and is only applicable to policies purchased on or after 30 October 2025.
Do I need to register for the Sompo Smart Delay?
Yes. After purchasing SOMPO TravelSafe+, you need to register by submitting your flight details at the Sompo Smart Delay page. You must complete the registration at least 3 hours before your trip.
How do I enjoy the Sompo Smart Delay if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed, you will receive an SMS notification and a LoungeKey Pass (QR code) via your registered email. Present the LoungeKey Pass (QR code) at the lounge counter to access the lounge.
How does Sompo Smart Delay track the delay time?
The Sompo Smart Delay is tracked through Cirium, a flight monitoring system that provides real-time updates on flight movements. For example, if your scheduled departure time is 14:00 and the airline announces a delay and reschedules your flight to 15:00, the system will record the delay as 1 hour.
When will I receive the LoungeKey Pass (QR code) to access the lounge?
For Elite Plan A
The LoungeKey Pass (QR code) will be sent once the flight is delayed by more than 60 minutes.
For Elite Plan B
The LoungeKey Pass (QR code) will be sent once the flight is delayed by more than 120 minutes.
What should I do if I do not receive the LoungeKey Pass (QR code) via email?
If you have received an SMS notification but have not received your LoungeKey Pass (QR code), please check your spam or junk email folder. If you still cannot find it, contact our customer service team at 1800 889 933 or email customer@bsompo.com.my for assistance. Please do not enter the lounge without using the LoungeKey Pass (QR code), as Berjaya Sompo will not reimburse any self-paid lounge access.

When do I need to register to Sompo Smart Delay?
Registration can be done any time after purchasing SOMPO TravelSafe+, but it must be completed at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure time stated on your boarding pass or itinerary. Registrations made less than 3 hours before departure will not be processed, and the Sompo Smart Delay benefit will not be covered for that flight.
How many flights can I register for?
You can register both your outbound and return flights. If you have connecting flights (transit) before reaching your destination, you can include those as well. For single-trip travel insurance, you can register up to 4 flights per trip. For annual travel insurance, you can register 4 times, up to 16 flights per year.
How can I update my Sompo Smart Delay registration?
Once registration is completed, the details cannot be edited. Please contact our customer service team to cancel the existing registration and submit the correct flight details.
What should I do if I am unable to register for Sompo Smart Delay or do not receive a registration confirmation email?

How do I register for Sompo Smart Delay with an annual travel insurance policy?
For annual policyholders, Sompo Smart Delay must be registered before each trip, at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure time stated on your boarding pass or itinerary. Each annual policy allows a maximum of 4 registrations per policy year.
What happens if I forget to register within the specified time?
If registration is not completed within the specified period, the Sompo Smart Delay will not be covered for that flight.
Can I register only for the return flight if I miss the outbound registration?
Yes, you can register Sompo Smart Delay for your return flight, but registration must be completed at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure time shown on your boarding pass or itinerary.
Does Sompo Smart Delay cover domestic flights?
No, Sompo Smart Delay does not cover domestic flights.
How do I use the LoungeKey Pass (QR code) at the lounge?
Sompo Smart Delay can be used at airports with lounges in the LoungeKey™ network, which includes over 1,800 lounges in more than 500 airports worldwide. You can check the list of lounges LoungeKey Lounge Finder page.
I have received the LoungeKey Pass (QR code). How can I use the lounge?
Present the QR code at the counter of your preferred lounge to gain access. If you cannot access your email, you can also show the Smart Delay ID number received via SMS to the lounge staff.
How long is the LoungeKey Pass (QR code) valid?
The LoungeKey Pass (QR code) is valid for 24 hours. Please use it within the validity period.
What amenities are available in the lounge?
Lounges offer a variety of amenities, including comfortable seating, snacks and drinks, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Other amenities may incur additional charges depending on the lounge. You can check the details LoungeKey Lounge Finder page or confirm directly with the lounge.
Can I transfer my lounge access to someone else?
No. The LoungeKey Pass (QR code) is not transferable. Lounge staff will verify the name on your LoungeKey Pass (QR code) matches your boarding pass or passport before allowing access to the lounge.
In what cases can I be denied access to the lounge?
Access to the lounge may be denied even if you have a valid LoungeKey Pass (QR code) in the following situations:
- The lounge is closed during your flight delay. In this case, you may use another lounge if available.
- The lounge is full. You may use another lounge if available.
- The pass holder does not comply with the lounge’s terms and conditions (e.g., minimum age or dress code). You may use another lounge if available.
- The name on your boarding pass or passport does not match the name on your LoungeKey Pass (QR code). Access will be denied.
How long can I stay at the lounge?
The duration of stay varies by lounge. Please check the specific lounge’s terms and conditions at LoungeKey Lounge Finder page for details.
What if the airport doesn't have a lounge?
The flight will not be eligible for Sompo Smart Delay if the airport does not have a lounge.
